If you’re looking for a unique, romantic, off-grid experience in the mountains, come glamping at Danyfan Carriage. This little glampsite is perfectly secluded, beside a stream in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park with views straight up the mountains. The converted railway carriage sleeps two in rustic charming luxury. It’s full of quirky touches, almost everything in there is up/re-cycled.
Everything you need for your glamping mini-break
The solar electricity means you can plug your phone in if you have to, keeps your provisions cool in the fridge and supplements candlelight for playing scrabble or cards. The wood-burning stove quickly heats up the carriage, and if that goes out in the night, the hot water bottles will keep you warm.
There is a deck outside from which you can gaze at the mountains. The fire pit and tripod bbq are perfect if you’d rather cook outside than on the gas hob and grills inside.
We leave you with a welcome hamper of goodies. You’ll find homemade sourdough bread and brownies, locally produced bacon, butter, eggs, and milk. We make sure the carriage is stocked up with salt, pepper, olive oil, tea, coffee etc.
About 10 metres away from the carriage is a surprisingly nice eco-friendly compost loo. The shower is alfresco (there’s a shower curtain to protect your modesty) but has hot water.
